Medications

Your medication catalog is the list of drugs your clinicians prescribe. Each row is one drug product, identified by your own id. Use type=medication with the API, or pick Drugs in the console.

Mandatory columns: medication_id and name. Every other column is optional; leave the cell empty if you don’t have the value.

Brand names often carry the strength and form, like Dolo 650 Tablet. Eka trims that from name for search and keeps your original text as display_name, unless you send your own display_name.

Common mistakes

Using | in generic_list. Generic components are separated with +, unlike aliases, which uses |.
A dosage form that isn’t on the list. The drug is still saved, but without a link to Eka’s form. Check the spelling against accepted drug forms.
Reusing an id for a different drug. An existing medication_id updates that drug; it never creates a second one.
