# ABDM Connect

> Connect your hospital system to India's health stack: ABHA, linked records, consent, claims and the UHI network.

Your hospital system joins the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). Patients bring their ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account), and records move between facilities with their consent. Claims go to insurers over one exchange. Eka handles the gateway, the encryption and the callbacks for you.

## How they fit together

**1. Create or find the patient's ABHA**

Milestone 1 covers ABHA [creation and login](https://developer.eka.care/docs/hie-cm/flows/m1). The [quickstart](https://developer.eka.care/docs/hie-cm/quickstart.md) creates a sandbox ABHA in about ten minutes.

**2. Link the visit**

[Register a walk-in patient and link the visit](https://developer.eka.care/docs/hie-cm/journeys/hip-register-patient-and-link-visit.md) as a care context, so the records belong to their ABHA.

**3. Share records with consent**

[Fetch a patient's records with consent](https://developer.eka.care/docs/hie-cm/journeys/hiu-fetch-records-with-consent.md) from every facility that holds them.

**4. Submit the claim**

Check eligibility, get pre-authorisation and submit the claim through [NHCX](https://developer.eka.care/docs/nhcx/getting-started.md).

**5. Reach the network**

[Book an in-person visit over UHI](https://developer.eka.care/docs/uhi/journeys/uhi-book-physical-consultation.md), or search [blood banks](https://developer.eka.care/docs/uhi/blood-bank/getting-started) near the patient.
