# Clinically intelligent HIS

> Add an ambient scribe, a medical assistant and agents grounded in Indian medical knowledge to a hospital system.

This recipe adds clinical AI to a hospital system: notes that write themselves, an assistant doctors can ask, and agents that act on the EMR. It uses [Scribe](https://developer.eka.care/docs/scribe/overview), [Agents](https://developer.eka.care/docs/agents/medassist.md) and [Medical Knowledge](https://developer.eka.care/docs/datasets/overview.md).

**1. Write the note while the doctor talks**

Add [Scribe](https://developer.eka.care/docs/scribe/quickstart.md) to the consultation screen, so each visit ends with a structured note in your template.

**2. Give doctors an assistant**

Embed [MedAssist](https://developer.eka.care/docs/agents/medassist.md) for medical questions during the visit.

**3. Ground answers in Indian medical knowledge**

Look up drugs, labs and treatment protocols with [Medical Knowledge](https://developer.eka.care/docs/datasets/overview.md), or give an assistant the same data through the [MedAI Tools MCP server](https://developer.eka.care/docs/datasets/build-with-ai/mcp-server/introduction.md).

**4. Let agents act on the EMR**

Build an agent for one job with the [Echo Agent Kit](https://developer.eka.care/docs/agents/agent-kit/introduction). Give it patients, appointments and prescriptions through the [EMR MCP server](https://developer.eka.care/docs/emr/build-with-ai/mcp-server/introduction.md).

To have a coding agent build this with you, see Build with AI for [Agents](https://developer.eka.care/docs/agents/build-with-ai.md) and [Scribe](https://developer.eka.care/docs/scribe/build-with-ai).
